Tucson Fire units responded to the 2700 block of North Estrella for multiple 911 calls reporting smoke and fire coming from an apartment. Fire fighters arrived on scene and found heavy fire and smoke coming from a single apartment that was part of a row of 4 total apartments.
The fire was controlled quickly and the search of the involved apartment was all clear. Two occupants of the apartment were located outside and one had minor injuries reportedly from breaking out windows on adjacent apartments to alert neighbors to the fire. No firefighters were injured and the fire was under control in 9 minutes.
Red Cross was responding to assist the two occupants, a 45 year-old male and 56 year-old female.
