A male Guatemalan national, 42-year-old Jorge Gomez-Gomez, was arrested on Sunday morning after he re-entered the U.S. illegally near Naco by U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Brian A. Terry Station.

Gomez-Gomez was transported him to the Brian A. Terry Station for processing.

During the subsequent fingerprint and criminal records check, agents discovered Gomez was convicted in 2004 of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 in San Diego, California, where he was sentenced to a year in prison and three years of probation.

Gomez now faces criminal prosecution for re-entry as a felon.
