NACO CBP Officers Arrest U.S. Drug Smuggler

More than 70 packages of marijuana were removed from a smuggling vehicle by CBP officers at the Port of Naco.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of Naco, Arizona, prevented a US citizen from smuggling almost 75 pounds of marijuana through the port on Friday.

Officers referred a 27-year-old woman for a secondary inspection of her Hyundai SUV Friday morning. During a search, officers discovered and removed more than 70 packages of marijuana from throughout the vehicle, worth $37,000.

Officers seized the drugs and the vehicle, while the subject was arrested and then turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
