Celebration Of Life To Be Held For Deputy U.S. Marshal Killed In Line Of Service

Public services for slain Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White will be held this week in Tucson, Arizona. Thursday, a public viewing will be held at Adair Funeral Homes from 4-8 p.m. On Friday, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Tucson Convention Center starting at 9:30 a.m.

Deputy U.S. Marshal White was shot and killed at 5:30 p.m., while attempting to serve a warrant at a home on 15th Avenue, near Jacinto Street, in Tucson, Arizona.

He and other officers were attempting to arrest Ryan Schlesinger, 26, who was wanted by the Tucson Police Department, who had been charged with stalking a law enforcement officer. Schlesinger opened fire, killing Deputy Marshal White before barricading himself in his home. He surrendered approximately one hour later.

Deputy White was raised in central Illinois and joined the USMS in 2015 in the District of Arizona. He served on active duty in the Air Force from 2000-2007. White was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve, serving with the 926th Wing located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He is survived by his wife and four children.
