Tucson Concentrix Corporation Call Center To Lay Off Nearly 800

A notice filed with the Arizona Department of Economic Security from the Concentrix Corporation, indicates that the company will lay off 785 call center workers. The notice was filed in accordance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

Concentrix Corporation is located at 3760 North Commerce Drive.

Concentrix is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SYNNEX Corporation, which acquired call-center operator Convergys Corp. along with the Tucson operation in October.

  1. I used to work there. Workers earned more than minimum wage so that shouldn’t have affected them. Also this was an INBOUND call center. Now when you need help you’ll be speaking to someone in India. Cocentrix took over Convergys and found they could make a bigger profit hiring overseas.

    • Just two years ago they were paying decently over minimum wage. The minimum has increased 37% since then; will be a whopping 50% bump within 3 years on 1/1/2020. Your statement that raising the minimum wage did not impact this decision is not only wrong but delusional.

  2. I would guess 75 to 80% of these soon to be former employees voted for the proposition to increase the minimum wage because it sounded so good.

    Elections have consequences.
