“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is correct to point out the overcrowded conditions at detention facilities along our southern border, but she fails to point the finger in the direction of those responsible for those conditions and the escalating crisis at the border: herself and her colleagues on the Left,” continued Biggs. “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and her colleagues across the aisle continue to block President’s Trump’s request of $4.5 billion dollars to improve the conditions at the border, specifically to feed and shelter illegal alien families and unaccompanied children, and to fund urgent medical treatment.”

“Instead of alarmist rhetoric, I call on my Democrat colleagues to join us in our efforts to secure the border, eliminate incentives for illegal entry, and provide funding for the humanitarian crisis caused by Congress’s inaction,” concluded Biggs.

National Border Patrol Council Vice-president Art del Cueto, in an interview on KFYI’s James T. Harris show said he was disgusted” by Ocasio-Cortez’s comments. “These people need to crack open a book, James T. It is a huge slap in the face to people who have lost people in the Nazi concentration camps.”

Del Cueto explained that the asylum seekers “turn themselves in” and then we must release them in twenty days.”

“We understand that there is asylum, and we respect that. We believe that that is the rule of law. But now, we are at a point now where we are seeing too many individuals making false asylum claims, and we are seeing too many people filling our detention facilities, we are seeing too many people now that are bringing children that aren’t theirs, we are seeing too many unaccompanied children in our facilities. That is where we are at,” said del Cueto describing the border crisis agents face.
