The radical group, Tempe Against Police Violence, begins doxing Phoenix officials and officers.

Phoenix Police personnel and their supporters have become the victims of doxing by a radical group out of Tempe. The attack follows numerous threats after a video, released in June, went viral showing parts of an arrest of family members for shoplifting in May.

The Facebook group, Tempe Against Police Violence, began sharing the personal information of Phoenix City Manager Ed Zucher, City Councilman Sal DiCiccio, police officers, 911 operators, and others in what appears to be an effort to intimidate and silence anyone the group perceives to be an enemy.

Doxing is the Internet-based practice of researching and broadcasting private or identifying information about an individual to extort, coerce, inflict harm, harass, shame, or organize vigilante justice.

The doxers

The Tempe Against Police Violence group was formed in July 2016 in response to the Tempe Police officer involved shooting that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Dalvin Hollins. According to the Arizona Republic, Hollins, a suspect in a robbery of a Walgreens drugstore, in July 2016, was shot by Tempe Police Lt. Edward Ouimette. After being wounded, according to the Republic, Hollins hid in a maintenance room on the campus of a senior living center, where he died. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office declined to charge the officer, who was later named in a multi-million dollar lawsuit by Hollins’ mother.

The aforementioned video that sparked the latest controversy was released just prior to the announcement that former Attorney General Tom Horn was seeking millions of dollars for Dravon Ames and his fiancee Iesha Harper for the indignities they suffered during their arrests for shop lifting.

The video shows Phoenix Police officers with their guns drawn confronting the pair after they had fled police who had attempted to stop their vehicle after receiving a report that they had shop lifted at a Dollar General store.

The video made no reference to the fact that Ames had ignored efforts by officers to stop his vehicle earlier. The video and Attorney Horn also failed to mention that Ames had been arrested in May on two felony counts for assaulting two police officers.

‘It’s our turn’

At last week’s Phoenix City Council meeting, Rally for Law Enforcement demonstrated outside City Hall and later addressed the City Council in a show of support for officers.

The Council heard from a crying Phoenix police dispatcher, Andrea Max, that she had received calls while at work threatening to kill her family. “They don’t even know my family,” Max told Council members. “They don’t know me.”

A list of demands

Tempe Against Police Violence isn’t just harassing officers and officials; they are organizing a protest, “Demand Phx Council To Follow Thru With Accountability,” to be held at the Tuesday, July 2 City Council meeting:

Demand Phx Council To Follow Thru With Accountability

A list of demands was presented to Phoenix city council. Phoenix Mayor Gallegos, called for a special council meeting July 2nd at 2:30pm. This special council meeting will go over a civilian review board and an ad hoc committee.

The group announced it intentions in a Facebook post along with a link to the Itsgoingdown.org website. According to it’s website, “It’s Going Down is a digital community center from anarchist, anti-fascist, autonomous anti-capitalist and anti-colonial movements. Our mission is to provide a resilient platform to publicize and promote revolutionary theory and action.”
