Glendale Police Seeking Identity Of Driver Who Killed Single Dad Of Four

GLENDALE, AZ — Glendale Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run that took the life of Carlos Chavez Aguirre. Mr. Chavez Aguirre was killed on Saturday night, after pushing his teenage daughter out of the way of the vehicle.

According to Glendale Police, on January 11, 2020 shortly after 7:15 p.m., Glendale Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a collision at 49th Avenue and Glendale Ave. Mr. Chavez Aguirre and his daughter were crossing the roadway outside the crosswalk when they were struck by a westbound pickup truck.

Both father and daughter were transported to local hospitals and he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The daughter’s were not life threatening.

Glendale Police Department Vehicular Crimes Detectives say the video and evidence from the scene, appears to show the vehicle to be a lifted, 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado single cab pickup with a custom dark brown paint color and oversized wheels.

According to police, the windows on the vehicle are tinted and therefore no driver description has been determined at this point in the investigation.
