First Atari Hotel to Begin Construction in Phoenix in Mid-2020

PHOENIX – An Atari-branded hotel is in the planning stage for Phoenix. Real estate developer True North Studio, working alongside GSD Group with Steve Wozniak’s Woz Innovation Foundation will develop the hotel which will include e-sports studios, video games bars, restaurants, and themed rooms.

More than 2.5 billion gamers across the world spent more than $152.1 billion (US) on games in 2019 alone; an increase of 9.6 percent year on year.

The Phoenix hotel is planned to break ground in 2020 with initial additional hotels planned in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, and San Jose.

Together we’ll build a space that will be much more than just a place to stay,” said Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari in a press release. “Atari is an iconic global brand that resonates with people of all ages, countries, cultures and ethnic backgrounds and we cannot wait for our fans and their families to enjoy this new hotel concept.”
