Yuma Inmate’s Death To Be Investigated As Homicide

YUMA — The death of an Arizona Department of Corrections inmate, Robert A. Boyd, is the focus of a criminal investigation as a potential homicide following an altercation Boyd had with another inmate.

According to the Arizona Department of Corrections, corrections officers and medical responders provided life-saving measures to Boyd on Thursday evening on the recreational yard at Arizona State Prison Complex, in Yuma.

Boyd was serving a sentence for two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of attempted armed robbery and attempted robbery, and one count of a dangerous drug violation. His assigned housing location was at the Cheyenne Unit of ASPC-Yuma.
