The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle collision that took the life of a 7-year-old girl.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, on July 26th, 2022, just after 8:00 a.m., deputies responded to a collision involving an SUV and a passenger car at Sahuarita Road and Sycamore Ridge Trail.
Traffic Unit detectives’ preliminary investigation revealed that a Dodge Journey SUV was stopped at Sahuarita Road waiting to make a left turn on Sycamore Ridge, when a Hyundai Elantra passenger car rear-ended the SUV.
The passenger car was occupied by three people, including two children in the back seat. One of the children, a 7-year-old female, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The other occupants of the car and two occupants from the SUV were transported with non-life threatening injuries.
