YUMA – On Tuesday, President Donald Trump and his supporters braved the excessive desert heat during his trip to Yuma to pick up the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council. It was the President’s fourth trip to Arizona this year and the union’s second endorsement of Trump.

The President touted his administration’s efforts to enhance border security and improve trade deals.

Gov. Doug Ducey, Sen. Martha McSally, Representatives Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs and Debbie Lesko, as well as former NFL kicker Jay Feeley joined the President.

Trump gave a shout out to McSally, who he described as “an extraordinary person,” who is “fighting for us.”

Art Del Cueto, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, began his speech in Spanish, saying half of his union members are minorities. He told the packed house, “I chose to come up here and speak in Spanish because I am sick and tired of people throwing around the race card. Stop using the race card and start using the Trump card.”

Del Cueto also gave a “huge shoutout to Latinos for Trump, because I know you’re out there.”

The vast majority of the attendees wore masks despite the 114 degree heat.
