On Monday April 30, 2018 at approximately 7:06 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office responded to a brush fire reported near the 2500 block of North Sagebrush Road in Whestone.
Fire personnel from Whetstone Fire, Huachuca City Fire, Tombstone Fire, and Sierra Vista Fire departments also responded to the scene and were able to contain the estimated 10 acre blaze.
The initial investigation indicates that a resident fired a model rocket that caught a bush on fire once it landed back on the ground.
