
Congressman Abe Hamadeh announced that Luke Wagner, a freshman from Mountain Ridge High School, is the winner of the 2025 AZ-08 Congressional Art Competition for his piece titled “Valor.”
Luke’s artwork will hang in the United States Capitol for one year, where it will be seen by millions of visitors.

“I am so proud of the young artists in the 8th Congressional District,” stated Congressman Hamadeh. “Their talent is remarkable, and their work is inspiring. I am grateful for their decision to share their talents with all of us through the Congressional Art Competition. I look forward to displaying their work in the Capitol and in the district.”
The 2nd place winner’s art will be hung in Congressman Hamadeh’s Congressional Office in Washington, D.C. and the 3rd place winner’s artwork will be displayed at the Congressman’s district office in Surprise, Arizona.
The 3rd place winner is Matilda Jordan, from Mountain Ridge High School, for her drawing "Hondo and Bowzer."

The 2nd place winner is Leighton S. Larson, from Mountain Ridge High School, for his drawing “F-22 Raptor.”
The 3rd place winner is Matilda Jordan, from Mountain Ridge High School, for her drawing “Hondo and Bowzer.”
