Jaywalker Killed In Phoenix Collision

Phoenix Police Department detectives investigated a fatal collision involving a
man who was struck by a vehicle near 43rd Avenue and Clarendon Avenue.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 14, 2025, around 7:59 p.m., officers responded to 3700 North 43rd Avenue regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located one vehicle driven by an adult male and an adult male victim suffering from serious injuries. The adult pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department and was not able to overcome his injuries and died at the hospital.

Detectives believe the man was attempting to cross the street outside any marked crosswalks when he was struck by the vehicle. Impairment does not appear to be a factor in this collision.

  1. YOu know it surprises me to see jaywalkers in the Sunnyslope area here in Phoenix… who jaywalk literally within 15 feet of an expensive paved, painted, and cross-walk light lit intersection. Where I come from, Canada, it’s illegal to jaywalk. Howz about the police and others photograph them jaywalkers and enforce the law. Jaywalkers obviously put themselves at risk but more important to me as a driver, they put me at risk of messing up my day.
