Continuing the recent pattern of taking the battle directly to their opponents, the Trump/Vance campaign has scheduled GOP Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance for a rally at a Mesa church on September 4, according to Turning Point Action.
Mesa’s Mayor John Giles, who is a registered Republican, has endorsed mostly Democrat candidates over the past few years, including Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for President.
“JD Vance will be getting a much larger crowd than would ever turn out to see John Giles.” said GOP consultant Constantin Querard, “But you gotta love the in your face nature of the campaign to ignore the liberal Mayor and go after the votes in Mesa!”
Giles is term-limited so he will not be seeking re-election in the largely Republican east valley city. Politicos say that having led the adoption of a city-wide non-discrimination ordinance and liberal climate action plan, a Giles’ run would have been unsuccessful if he had the chance.
“Giles is rumored to be looking at a run for governor. He has to run to the left if he has any hope of defeating the GOP’s presumptive nominee, Karrin Taylor Robson. So, this choice by Vance is smart – it is a shot at Giles, who has worn out his welcome, and the voters of the east valley can get a look at a real conservative candidate who actually shares their strong family values.”
Vance will be joined by political activist Charlie Kirk at the rally, which will be hosted by Turning Point Action.
Giles. I wouldn’t hire that loser to mow the lawn, let alone run a city.
Go J.D go!
Giles has been a sad disappointment. Failing upwards seems to be the pattern for Leftists. Hopefully good sense will prevail among AZ voters and they stop the Californication of their State.
this rino mayor is just the same quality and lack thereof as the guy in tucson. ran as an r to initially get elected, realized he was a joke then declared to be a d to get reelected. He has done nothing and has shown his lack of care by urinating on a wall in public. reall good choice but here in pima co all it takes is a d behind the name, qualifications not required as in all d politicians.
Giles, a run for governor? Maybe as a rino but not as a republican
