Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting that left one dead near 22nd Street and Broadway Road on Friday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, late Friday night, February 7, 2024, patrol officers responded to a shooting incident at an apartment complex near 2200 East Broadway Road. A man identified as 40-year-old Isaiah Young was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the common area of the complex.
Young was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Officers contacted a man at the scene who acknowledged his involvement with the shooting, claiming self-defense. Detectives responded and after speaking with the shooter, witness’ and reviewing evidence on scene, the man was released pending further investigation.
