
A man who pleaded guilty for a string of burglaries at residential construction locations in Marana has been sentenced to four years in the Arizona Department of Corrections.
Sergio Lino Sandoval admitted to committing the series of burglaries.
In 2024, the Marana Police Department investigated a residential burglary as well as several burglaries at residential construction locations for various home builders.
Marana Police officers identified Sandoval as a suspect after his vehicle was observed leaving a construction site in the early morning hours of April 10, 2023. MPD obtained a search warrant for Sandoval’s vehicle as well as two homes he was associated to. During the search, they located tools, cabinets, countertops as well as other items that had been reported stolen from construction sites from October 2022 through April 2023.
In addition to the items taken from the construction sites, officers located items taken in a home burglary of Marana residents. Officers learned these items had been taken when Sandoval was working as a contractor for these residents.
On February 20, 2025, Sandoval pled guilty to one count of Theft Greater than $25,000, a Class Two Felony, and two counts of Theft, greater than $4,000 and less than $25,000, each a Class Three Felony. On April 24, 2025, Sandoval was sentenced to four years in the Arizona Department of Corrections and a consecutive sentence of seven years on probation. Mr. Sandoval will also be required to pay over $21,000 in restitution.
