Phoenix Police Department detectives have identified and located 23-year-old Jose Garcia, a suspect in a shooting incident turned fatal in downtown Phoenix early Sunday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at about 12:38 a.m. on April 27, 2025, officers were called to a shooting near 700 North 1st Street. As officers got to the scene, they found 26-year-old Jiehiason Lane suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was not able to overcome his injuries and died.
Investigators believe there is additional cell phone footage captured by witnesses during the incident. Members of the public, who have footage of the incident are urged to upload and share it with detectives here.
Anyone with information to include video surveillance of the area are encouraged to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
