Pima County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Officer Involved Shooting

TUCSON – The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an officer involved shooting that took place on Sunday while officers were responding to a domestic violence call at 12:30 p.m. A deputy sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, but has since been released.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a report of threats at the 6000 block of West Oklahoma Street. Upon arrival in the area of Frank Avenue and Irvington Road a deputy made contact with an unidentified suspect. During that contact, there was a physical altercation and then an officer involved shooting. The suspect was taken into custody and was not injured.

As per the Pima County Sheriff’s Office’s policy, the deputy will be placed on administrative leave.
