Trump Sends Shout Out Tweet To Tucson Restaurant Owners Facing Backlash For Support

TUCSON – In response to attacks on Jorge and Betty Rivas owners Sammy’s Mexican Grill, President Trump tweeted out his support on Sunday. The couple, strong supporters of the president, have been facing backlash after attending his campaign rally in Phoenix earlier this month.

Along with the tweet, supporters of the president have been flooding Sammy’s located at 16502 N. Oracle Road near Catalina.

Their support for the president has prompted attacks on the couple on social media. According to KOLD.com, “Betty’s face was circled and posted to Facebook, calling her out for attending the rally.”

Jorge and Betty are not the only ones experiencing attacks for their support of the president. Huemac and Gloria Badilla, a husband and wife team out of the Phoenix area, own Chilttepica Salsa. The couple’s company came under attack “just for being at a @DonaldJTrumpJr book signing in Scottsdale and a pic with @kelliwardaz,” according to a tweet sent out Sunday morning.

Betty Rivas made national news in 2016 when she joined Trump on stage in Tucson:
