PHOENIX – As of Sunday, March 29, Arizona health officials have reported 919 cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths in the state. Of the 919 cases, 52 percent are male, and 48 percent are female.
In Maricopa County, 60 percent of the deaths have been individuals age 60 and older, and 40 percent of deaths have been individuals between the ages of 40-59. Only 19 percent of those with the virus in Maricopa County have been hospitalized.
The Navajo County Public Health Services District (NCPHSD) and the Arizona Department of Health Services have confirmed a death in Navajo County due to COVID-19 and have also confirmed additional cases in Navajo County off-reservation. The individual who passed away was in their 60s with underlying health conditions.
After weeks of providing inadequate information on a less than robust online platform, the Arizona Department of Health Services unveiled a new dashboard with increased data about the COVID-19 outbreak.
