Gosar denounces “Fake News” Reports Of America First Caucus Document Authorship

Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar, is denying authorship of  documents for the formation of a new Congressional caucus. Gosar is calling out the “liberal media,” he says have “recklessly claimed I am the author of a document.

Although the AP did not confirm the origins of the document, it reported that “hard-right House Republicans on Friday were discussing forming an America First Caucus, which one document described as championing “Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and warning that mass immigration was putting the “unique identity” of the U.S. at risk.”

“Let me be perfectly clear, I did not author this paper,” said Gosar in a press release. “In fact, I first became aware of it by reading about it in the news yesterday, like everyone else.”

“Imagine my surprise to read I “wrote it.” I will continue to work on America First issues in the House Freedom Caucus. Once again, I am the subject of a false media story. I will not let the lying media deter me from the America First work I have been championing for years in the House Freedom Caucus and with President Trump,” concluded Gosar.

It is unclear when the use of the term “Anglo-Saxon” became controversial and came to be considered a “dog whistle,” a term used to send a silent message to like-minded individuals, however, the AP reports that the term “could be read as a veiled analogy for “White.”

“The term “White Anglo-Saxon Protestant,” or WASP, has traditionally been used in American culture to denote wealthy White families, typically with British ancestries,” noted an AP report. “The Anglo-Saxons were a group who inhabited England prior to the Norman invasion of 1066.”

Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy responded quickly to “denounce the use of the term by the American First Caucus,” implying that it was a term used by white supremacists.

Rep. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who first discussed the plans to create the caucus, said she has no plans to move forward and said On Twitter that the staff-level draft proposal of her “America First” caucus is “from an outside group that I hadn’t read,” according to CNN. Greene also accused the media of creating “false narratives” and focusing on race to “divide the American people with hate through identity politics.”
