Glendale Police Continue To Look For Leads In 2016 Homicide Case

On April 22, 2016, the body of Jose Sanchez was found in his apartment near 57th Ave and Camelback Road. Detectives determined that Jose was the victim of an apparent home invasion robbery/homicide.
The case remains under active investigation five years later.
According to Glendale Police, witnesses reported as many as four Hispanic males fleeing the area of the apartment, one of which was carrying a laptop computer. Surveillance video shows the suspect last seen leaving the area in a Dodge Avenger.
Jose died of multiple gunshot wounds. His family also reported property missing from the scene.
Detectives recovered shell casings, and a frying pan which police believe could contain potential biological evidence.
Based on the scene, detectives developed an investigative theory that the victim may have resisted and struck one or more of his assailants with the frying pan.
Investigators are still encouraging anyone with knowledge of Jose’s murder to reach out to the Glendale PD Homicide Investigations Unit at 623-930-3000 or through Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
