The body of a California man, Michael Dean Phan, was recovered on Sunday at Lake Havasu after he jumped from a boat to go swimming and didn’t resurface on Saturday.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received reports on Saturday that Mr. Phan, age 47 of Garden Grove, had entered the lake to swim and never resurfaced. Divers and Patrol boats searched the area where Mr. Phan was last seen using side scan sonar technology beginning first thing Sunday morning.
At 11:15 a.m., Mr. Phan was located deceased in approximately 32 feet of water.
The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
