Ethnic Studies appeal costs grow

The Tucson Unified School District’s legal bills in the appeal of the Arizona Superintendent of Public Instructions finding that the district’s Mexican American Studies classes are in violation of state law, from the months of June through September have totaled $111,657.64.

The total is estimated to be $131,858.89 by the end of November. The district has accumulated more and more legal fees defending classes for fewer and fewer students.
