SPGA releases new video “They Don’t Speak for Us”

Smart Girl Politics Action (SGPA), a conservative women’s group, released a new video addressing the “war on women.” In the video, SGPA admonishes the Obama administration for what they say is its strategy “to distract women from the real issues of this election season.” The women take exception to the President’s call for “a forum to laud the strength of the administration’s economic policies, particularly their benefits to women on the Good Friday Holy Day.”

Smart Girl Politics recently launched a new women’s voter outreach campaign in Arizona and eighteen other states focused on increasing the conservative women’s vote. Organizers say that the campaign “strives to bring women together to discuss solutions to today’s real problems.”

SGPA in Tucson is sponsoring upcoming meeting with Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of True the Vote, on Sunday April 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The event will be held at Congressional candidate, Gabriela Saucedo Mercer’s office located at 4550 S 12th Avenue. “We welcome apolitical voters to come out and discuss issues important for the betterment of our lives and our state,” said SPGA Arizona state Coorinator Karen Shutte.

In Arizona, Smart Girl Politics Action has over 1000 members. Nationally the group has over 50,000 members. The group was formed after the 2008 Presidential election by a stay-at-home mom, SGPA is now a nationwide grassroots conservative movement “dedicated to empowering, educating, and engaging women to be more involved in politics.”

Schutte said, “In Arizona we have been keeping our focus on recruiting leadership teams, increasing state membership through networking initiatives, and training volunteers on voter registration and voter integrity in partnership with True the Vote.”

“Women are smart enough to know that we have bigger issues in this country than paying for our birth control. Women, especially moms, are feeling the effects of this economy and rising gas and food prices every day,” says Stacy Mott, Founder and President of SGPA.
