Mesa woman runs over husband for not voting

Gilbert Police Fepartment officials report that a Mesa man is in critical condition after his wife ran over him with her Jeep because she was upset he didn’t vote in the 2012 General Election. Holly Solomon, age 28 of Mesa, was arrested after she chased her husband Daniel Solomon, age 36, in a parking lot on Gilbert Road near Vaughn Avenue, police said.

According to Gilbert police officials, Holly began verbally attacking her husband because she “believed her family was going to face hardship” with an Obama win and his failure to vote. Witnesses told police that there was a lot of yelling before Holly hopped in her Jeep, and started chasing her husband around a parking lot.

Daniel tried hiding behind a light pole, but Holly “drove around the pole numerous times while continuing to yell at him.” When Daniel ran toward the road Holly struck him with the Jeep, pinning him beneath the vehicle and the curb, according to police.

Daniel told police his wife “just hated Obama” and was very angry he was re-elected and blamed the President for problems the Mesa “family is going through.”

According to various reports, Holly was particularly fearful of Obamacare. Daniel is now in critical condition at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical center.

Holly was booked into jail on domestic violence charges. There is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.

Romney won Arizona handily, Obama received no electoral votes in Arizona.
