Sinema named Assistant Whip in 113th Congress

Shortly after being sworn into office, Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema was appointed as an Assistant Whip in the 113th Congress.

Sinema’s appointment as Assistant Whip follows her other appointed role to serve on the House Financial Services Committee.

“I’m pleased to announce that I have appointed Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema to serve as an Assistant Whip in the 113th Congress,” said House Democratic Whip, Congressman Steny Hoyer in a statement released on January 7. “Congresswoman Sinema will bring an important perspective to the table as a new Member of Congress. I’m confident she will serve effectively in this role, and I look forward to working with her to support job creation, strengthen the middle class, and address other pressing challenges.”

“It’s an honor to receive these assignments,” said Sinema. “The 113th Congress was elected to be problem solvers and I’m ready for the challenge. Hard working families can no longer afford to wait for a Congress that gridlocks on ideology. I look forward to working with my colleagues from both parties to get things done.”
