Are we still a Judeo-Christian nation? I’m starting to wonder. I’m still reeling from watching 3801 Lancaster. I will never be able to free my mind of the images. After viewing this, I am forced to wonder, when did we start believing in the wrong god, or do we believe in God for that matter?
A few years ago, my eldest son and I made the pilgrimage to Caesarea Philippi. To the very spot where Jesus asked his disciples “Who do the crowds say that I am?” We were standing in front of the ancient temple of Pan where two thousand years prior, women sacrificed their babies to the god, Pan. Women… mothers threw their infant children down a dark abyss where their babies were dashed on the rocks below. If blood flowed into the river from the cave, their sacrifice was received. Pan’s lust was satisfied.
Good crops could be expected. No blood? Try again next year.
