TUSD fails to notify parents of Pueblo shooting

tusd-150x150In typical TUSD fashion, parents are upset over the failure of the District to notify them of a student who discharged a gun at Pueblo High School.

Parents were angry that they were not told about a gun incident in which a 15-year-old Pueblo student accidentally discharged a handgun in the high school’s bathroom.

The student is facing multiple weapons charges.

The incident occurred on Friday, but parents did not learn of the incident until Monday.

TUSD, PR staffer Cara Rene, claimed the District sent out notices of the incident. However, parents and the public jaded after years of the District’s lack of transparency, question the claim.

Rene claimed that boys were “playing with a gun.”

According to Rene, two monitors responded to the bathroom after hearing the shot.

No one was injured during the incident.
