Jones appointed to Arizona Court of Appeals

Kenton Jones has en appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division I. Jones will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Philip Hall

Kenton Jones has served on the bench of the Yavapai County Superior Court since October 2009. Prior to becoming a judge, Mr. Jones served as a magistrate in Chino Valley (2008-2009). He previously worked as a sole practitioner and in various law partnerships, focusing on municipal law and serving as the town attorney for Jerome, Clarkdale and Dewey-Humbolt (1989-2008). Mr. Jones also has worked for the United States Postal Service and is a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Jones has been actively involved in community organizations. He was appointed to serve as a Yavapai County member on the HAVA (Help America Vote Act) Advisory Committee; was President of the Yavapai Humane Society for ten years; and had a long association with the Rotary Club of Prescott and the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Yavapai County. Mr. Jones also formed Girlsport, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose purpose was to provide access to college scholarship opportunities for rural high school girls through competitive sports.

Kenton Jones graduated from Arizona State University College of Law (1986) and received his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University (1984).
