McSally joins dems in favor of gun control

martha-mcsally-fundraiserA majority of Arizona voters, on both sides of the aisle, oppose most gun control legislation and as a result Martha McSally has kept silent throughout her campaign about her support for increased gun control.

Now, after controversy arose stemming from a highly questionable ad put out by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’s group Americans for Responsible Solutions, McSally had to come clean. According to the controversial Americans for Responsible Solutions, McSally has announced that she ”supports adding misdemeanor stalking to the list of criminal offenses that would keep dangerous individuals from obtaining guns in other states where stalking can also be a misdemeanor.”

McSally claims that she was a victim of a stalker, but her campaign has ignored requests by the ADI for information about the alleged event and in what jurisdiction police reports were filed.

McSally’s supposed change of heart comes after the Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC released the ad which featured the voices of women who had lost loved ones to criminals and stalkers.

According to the group, McSally refuses to say whether or not she supports or opposes legislation that would expand background checks to cover gun show and internet sales.

One McSally Facebook friend turned the fight between Barber and McSally into an attack on Giffords, “They will do anything to keep that seat. As soon as gabby is thru milking her injury barber’s health will cause him to have to retire and she will get her seat back!”

It is unlikely that Giffords will return to Congress. Former Arizona State legislator, Dr. Matt Heinz is expected to run when Barber retires.

With this recent revelation there is little to distinguish McSally  from Barber, who votes with  the Republicans in the House much of the time.   The only discernible difference is that Barber is a long time resident of southern Arizona and McSally is not.

In what can only be described as something from the dark past, a Republican blogger and former employee of Americans for Prosperity has released a “black list” of Republicans who have come out in support of Barber. Among the targets is legendary A-10 pilot Tom Norris, who served alongside McSally in the Air Force, but has given his full support to Barber. Norris responded to the bizarre attack, “Blacklisted for non compliance with union (Rep Party) rules, noted and I am over it. Next election, do us all a favor and vet your candidate.”
