Tuba city man sentenced to 5 years in prison for attempted robbery

Windfield William Yazzie, 33, of Tuba City, was sentenced on October 7 2014 by U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell to five years imprisonment. Yazzie pleaded guilty on June 30, 2014 to attempted robbery.

On Feb. 25, 2014, Yazzie brandished what appeared to be a firearm in an attempt to rob the victim on the Navajo Nation, but the victim was able to escape before the robbery was completed.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.
