Former Giffords flak joins McSally team

cj-kaamiganOn Friday, Congresswoman Martha McSally announced that CJ Karamargin, as her District Director on her Congressional staff.

Karamargin, who is leaving his job as spin master for the scandal plagued Pima Community College, served as the communications director for former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Before serving with Giffords, he was a political columnist, reporter and editor at booth the Arizona Daily Star and Tucson Citizen.

A pro at dodging questions and creating a self-serving narratives in order to sell various programs and agendas, Karamargin was brought in by scandal plagued PCC chancellor Roy Flores. As vice chancellor for government relations and public information his starting pay was $148,188 annually. His position called for him to combine “public information and government advocacy,” and “inform both officials and the public of the college’s goals and achievements.”

Karamargin also serves on the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding Board of Directors. According to the organization: “The Fund for Civility was created in February 2011 by the family of Ron Barber as a way to help the Tucson, Arizona, community heal from the senseless shooting of Jan. 8, 2011, in which six people died and more than a dozen others were wounded. Through funded projects, volunteer task force collaborations, sponsored films and discussions, and awareness-raising concert events, the Fund seeks to increase civility, respect and understanding and build healthier local and global communities.”
