Tucson’s Occupy Public Lands leader McLane busted for pot

mclaneSometime after his lovely lunch at El Minuto Cafe with Occupy Portland leader Ibrahim Mubarak, 31-year-old John McLane, the self-proclaimed, “speaker” for the Occupy Public Lands group at Veinte De Agosto Park was arrested by Tucson Police for selling drugs.

According to TPD, over the past several weeks the Department has received numerous complaints about the use and sale of marijuana and dangerous drugs in and around Veinte De Agosto Park. The Tucson Police Department’s Street Narcotics Unit began investigating the complaints utilizing undercover officers in the park. During the investigation, officers made 20 separate purchases of illegal drugs, from 12 different suspects in the area. The drugs included Methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills (Xanax) and mushrooms.

Immediately following the investigation, officers began locating and arresting the suspects involved in the sales. McLane and five other suspects were arrested: 21-year-old Dustin Ray Jensen, 42-year-old Christopher Beeney, 40-year-old Carlos A. Rodriguez, 33-year-old Zackary Bell and 24-year-old Nicole Marie Ancheta Coronado. All six suspects were booked into the Pima County Jail for the below listed charges.

At this time, the investigation is continuing while officers attempt to locate the additional suspects involved.

Jonathan McLane – 1 count of Marijuana Sales, 1 count – Possession of Marijuana and 1 count – Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

Dustin Ray Jensen – 5 counts of Marijuana Sales, 1 count – Possession of Marijuana for Sale and 1 count of Resisting Arrest.

Christopher Beeney – 1 count – Possession of Dangerous Drug for Sale, 1 count – Possession of a Dangerous Drug and 1 count – Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

Carlos A. Rodriguez – 1 count – Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale.

Zackary Bell – 1 count of Marijuana Sales

Nicole Marie Ancheta Coronado – 1 count of Marijuana Sales
