Pima Community College Board votes to raise tuition

Pima Community College’s Chancellor Lee Lambert makes $298,700 a year, and oversees a college with the students from the 8th poorest metropolitan area in the country. Presidents Louis Albert from the West Campus, Charlotte Fugett, of the East Campus, and Lorraine Morales from the Community Campus earn between $174,670 to $196,661 a year.

Still, the PCC Board of Governors has approved a $5 per-credit-hour increase to in-state resident tuition for the 2015-16 academic year.

The increase for students was approved at last week’s Board meeting, and will bring PCC’s in-state resident tuition to $75.50 per credit-hour.

The Board also voted to increase the semester processing fee from $10.00 to $15.00, while eliminating the graduation fee of $15 and the student Identification Card fee of $2.

The Board voted to raise non-resident tuition by $23 a credit-hour, from $329 to $352.

The changes go into effect starting with the academic year that begins July 1, 2015.
