Tucson Police seeking man wanted in attempted murder

On March 10, 2015, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Tucson Police Department officers responded to the 2500 block of East River Rd for the report of a possible domestic violence related shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

The female victim was treated by citizens in the area, as well as officers from the Tucson Police Department and members of the Tucson Fire Department. The victim was then transported to a local area hospital where she received continued treatment for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives learned that the victim recently broken up with her boyfriend and had obtained an order of protection against him. On the date of the incident, the victim was attempting to leave the parking lot of her residence when her ex-boyfriend pulled in behind her and blocked her vehicle. The victim’s ex-boyfriend then got out of his vehicle and walked toward hers. The victim immediately called 911 and reported the incident. While speaking with the 911 operator, the victim’s ex-boyfriend pulled out a handgun and began firing into the vehicle. The victim was struck multiple times and the suspect fled the scene in a silver Dodge Charger.

Based on information gathered from the victim and several witnesses, the shooter was identified as 49-year-old Kevin Dunbar. Dunbar has not been located. There is now an active Felony Arrest Warrant on Dunbar for Attempted First Degree Murder, along with several other charges.

Dunbar is described as an African American male, approximately 6’1, 280lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. Although Dunbar was last seen in a silver Dodge Charger, investigators believe he is possibly driving a dark colored, 2013 Toyota Avalon (AZ License plate #BKN2687).
