Phoenix man arrested for selling families fake Disney tickets

In February 2015 a mom decided that one of the best ways to celebrate a child’s birthday is with a special trip to the magical land of “Disney”. So, in an effort to save a little money, according to phoenix Police, the mom went to an internet site in search of tickets to the “Magic Kingdom”.

The mom found tickets to Disneyland advertised for sale at an incredible price, Phoenix Police report, and on February 10th, 2015 she met with 38 year old Terance Hutchinson, the advertiser. She bought 6 tickets to Disneyland from Hutchinson for $250.00.

On February 13th, 2015 the family went to Disney. When they arrived, they discovered that the tickets purchased from Hutchinson were fraudulent.

In January, 2015 detectives from the Phoenix Police Business and Economic Stability Team (B.E.S.T.) had initiated an investigation concerning Hutchinson and his fraudulent internet activities of selling fake Disney tickets based on complaints from citizens. Detectives found that Hutchinson had been selling fraudulent tickets over the internet since October 2014, just after his release from prison for the same criminal activities.

Detectives were able to establish probable cause to arrest Hutchinson and on March 10th, 2015 the suspect was arrested in Glendale. Hutchinson was found to be in possession of 4 fraudulent tickets at the time of the arrest and, at interview, he admitted to selling the fake documents over the internet.
