Meth seized in West Phoenix neighborhood

The evening of Friday March 20, 2015, Arizona Department of Public Safety GIITEM (Gang Intelligence, Immigration Team Enforcement Mission) Detectives working as part of the FBI Violent Street Gang Task Force (VSGTF) in a west Phoenix neighborhood and seized 28.7 pounds of Methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $160,000.

Detectives also seized $3500 in US Currency and one vehicle.

The short term investigation centered on a drug trafficking organization with ties to Mexico and local street gangs. Three individuals were also arrested. No identities will be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

The FBI VSGTF consists of Detectives, Investigators and Agents from the FBI, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Phoenix Police Department, the Arizona Department of Corrections and Border Patrol.
