South Tucson Mayor Paul Dias is spearheading the effort of members of the Pima Association of Governments (PAG) and South Tucson City Council to pass a resolution in support of Davis Monthan Air Force base and the A-10 Mission.
Earlier this month, former Congressman Ron Barber called on PAG to get involved in the campaign to save the A-10 aircraft which provides Close Air Support for our troops, and Davis Monthan Air Force base which brings in approximately $1.6 billion into the southern Arizona economy.
Dias said, “The people of South Tucson and southern Arizona value our service members and believe that not only do we have an obligation to see that they are provided the tools they need to do their jobs, but recognize the many jobs the base provides to the people of this community.”
