Gosar Calls For Firing Of Planned Parenthood Doctor

On Thursday, Rep. Paul Gosar, is calling for the firing of Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical research, after media reports and video emerged on Wednesday reportedly showing Planned Parenthood’s Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, discussing how Planned Parenthood harvests the body parts of unborn babies.

“As a father of three children and as a health care provider, I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by reports that Planned Parenthood has allegedly been harvesting unborn baby parts. This blatant disregard for humanity should repulse all Americans, regardless of political ideology.

“An apology doesn’t cut it and I call on Planned Parenthood to fire Dr. Nucatola for her disturbing statements and tone. Furthermore, I fully support House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte’s call for a Congressional investigation into the inhumane acts described in these reports. If these allegations are proven to be true, all federal funding to Planned Parenthood should be immediately terminated and the people engaged in these horrific acts should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

The Washington Post reported on a video recently released by the Center for Medical Progress that reportedly shows Nucatola discussing the organization’s illegal trafficking of aborted fetal organs.

In May, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, by a vote of 242-184-1. This legislation prohibits late term abortions for unborn babies after 20 weeks post-fertilization. Congressman Gosar was an original cosponsor.

Rep. Trent Franks, prime sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act stated, “The chilling video released is yet another tragic and heart-breaking reminder of Planned Parenthood’s legendary disregard for the sanctity of innocent human life. The trafficking of the little hearts, livers and heads of these precious unborn children resulted in significant financial benefit for Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country.”

“Planned Parenthood must be held responsible for the horrifying use of partial-birth abortions to deliberately harvest the intact the body parts of innocent human children. It is an unspeakable disgrace that the Obama Justice Department will likely never launch a criminal investigation to look into these unconscionable acts that were clearly covered up by Planned Parenthood – from the CEO, Cecile Richards, down to the workers at the clinics who performed these gruesome acts. If our government and the American people look the other way from this kind of insidious evil, we do so at our moral peril,” concluded Franks.

“Some of the practices described in the video, in order to make it easier to harvest the body parts, sound very much like partial-birth abortion. That is against the law. We need to find out if any of these practices are going on in Arizona,” stated Arizona State Rep. Kelly Townsend. “If these practices are somehow still legal, while pushing the envelope of the laws we have in place, we may need to look at legislation to correct these loopholes.” Townsend not only wants Nucatola fired, she wants Arizona Planned Parenthood investigated.

The President of Communications for Planned Parenthood, released a statement apologizing for Dr. Nucatola’s statements saying, “In the video one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion, this is unacceptable and I personally apologize for the staff member’s tone and statements.”

In the video, Dr. Nucatola graphically describes how the organization takes special caution “to crush” other organs within the baby using forceps in order to preserve hearts, livers and lungs. Dr. Nucatola goes on to apparently describe how clinics cook the books on these sales in order to not be perceived as selling these tissues and earning a profit. Congressman Gosar has watched the video and is very troubled by these statements.
