DPS Detectives Investigating West Valley SR 101 Shooting

Incredibly no one was struck by bullets or flying debris

Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) troopers responded to the area of northbound SR 101 and Bell Road at approximately 11:05 a.m. for a report of gunshots fired at a passenger car.

State troopers quickly determined that shots had indeed been fired at a dark grey passenger car and called for State detectives to take over the investigation.

Detectives determined that a man driving a tan colored pickup truck pulled next to [the left side of] the dark grey passenger car and fired multiple shots at the driver side of the passenger car. Bullets struck the driver’s side window, driver’s side rear-passenger window and the left side of the vehicle. Incredibly the man driving the passenger car was not struck by bullets or flying debris.

The tan colored pickup truck maneuvered around and behind the passenger car and took the Bell Road exit of SR 101.
