Tucson Man Killed In Targeted Shooting

crime scene notice

On October 13, 2015, just after 6:00 p.m., Tucson Police officers responded to the report of a shooting at a residence in the 1400 block of East Grant Road. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 20-year-old Zachary Corbut in the residence with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Tucson Fire responded to assist, but Corbut was pronounced deceased shortly after their arrival.

Detectives were able to determine that several residents were inside the home when the shooting took place. The initial investigation revealed that multiple suspects entered the rear of the home and confronted the residents. The suspects physically assaulted two residents and then shot a third resident of the home multiple times before fleeing the scene. It appears the suspects were targeting the specific victims and that the incident was not a random act of violence. At this time there are no suspects in custody.
