7 Bodies Shot, Decapitated Found Near Southern Border

Authorities discovered seven bodies in the La Sierrita.  Six of the vicitms had been shot, one had been decapitated.

Authorities received an anonymous tip advising that the bodies would be found at Rancho La Sierrita near Sasabe, Sonora a little over 100 yards away from the U.S. Mexico border.

The bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition, according to Expreso.com

In June 2014, Mexican authorities rescued 39 Mexican and Central American migrants, and arrested three people at the ranch that had been used as a conduit for the cartels to pass drugs and people into the U.S.

According to Contrapunto.com, “Since 2006 this estate was used for smuggling drugs and people, especially in summer, and it has served more than 400 migrants a day to the United States; officials said each paid seven thousand dollars.”

The area is controlled by drug traffickers affiliated with the Sinaloa Federation.
