Kirkpatrick Thrilled With McCain’s “Vulnerable” Rank

In the red state of Arizona, Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick would have an uphill climb against any Republican, but she is seeing a glimmer of hope in the news that Roll Call has ranked McCain among the most vulnerable senators in the country.

Kirkpatrick released a statment calling the vulnerable rank “the latest ominous sign for McCain.” Kirkpatrick noted that McCain “remains deeply unpopular with the Republican base in Arizona.”

According to Roll Call, “McCain is entering his third decade in the Senate, but with a presidential race at the top of the ticket, Arizona will likely be targeted by national Democrats this year who would offer organizational support to drive voters to the polls.”

In Arizona’s 2014 General Election, Republicans swept all of the statewide offices by large margins. While Kirkpatrick stands little chance of taking the spot from McCain, another woman just might. Because of his “deeply unpopular” status with his Party, State Senator Kell Ward is picking up steam and McCain’s camp is steaming mad.

While reportedly sowing seeds of chaos, the McCain camp is pulling out all the stops to stop the exodus of his supporters to Ward’s camp.
