For years, Pima County government officials have used taxpayer resources to hamper local companies through lawsuits, over-taxation, and regulation. As a result, Pima County is now among the country’s largest and “best” companies according to Forbes.

On Friday, the crack PR crew at Pima County posted the following: “Forbes confirms what 7,000+ county employees already know – Pima County is a great place to work.”

7000 employees.

Of course Costco (#3), CBRE (#1), Trader Joe’s, #21 Harley Davidson (#21), In-N-Out Burger (#68), Starbucks (#81), Quick Trip (#82), United States Air Force (#114), Marriott (#117), Johnson Controls (#207), and Raytheon (#204) came in hgher than Pima County (#230) but they generate taxes in the County so they are not worthy of note by the Pima County Facebook crew.

Because of the County’s business unfriendly tactics, QT’s assistant managers are among some of the higher paid employees within the County’s boundaries. Few locally owned an operated companies within the County can pay more than minimum wage.

Rather than promoting itself, perhaps the County’s crack PR staff, led by the always untalented Mark B. Evans, could work on promoting the very few businesses left that support what is left of the crumbling infrastructure?
