Law Enforcement Supports LaWall Challenger Feinman

The first law enforcement union endorsement has been made in the 2016 race for Pima County Attorney. On April 7, Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS) President David Caballero sent a letter to Democratic candidate for Pima County Attorney Joel Feinman endorsing his campaign in the Democratic primary election.

AZCOPS represents police officers, deputies, correctional officers, probation and parole officers, and civilian support staff from numerous agencies across Arizona.

AZCOPS is endorsing Feinman because they believe that he “will provide a realignment of lawful prospective and application to the Office of the Pima County Attorney and the citizens of Pima County, eliminating some of the politics within this system and reaffirming the ideals of justice,” wrote President Caballero.

“We could not be more excited by this endorsement,” said Feinman campaign manager Alma Hernandez. “It shows that our law enforcement professionals agree that it is time for a change in the Pima County Attorney’s Office. The current leadership does not have the faith of the men and women who risk their lives every day to keep our community safe. So they are putting their faith, and their endorsement, behind Joel.” Feinman’s opponent, long-time Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall, does not have the endorsement of any law enforcement union.

Election day is August 30, 2016.
