Two Chandler Police Department officers are recovering from gunshot wounds following what was described as an ambush at an area WalMart on Saturday morning.
The officers were responding reports of a trespasser, 24-year-old Mitchell Oakley, a convicted felon.
Oakley opened fire on the the officers. Oakley was killed when one of the officers returned fire.
One officer in the intensive care unit, and was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon.
