Fatal Traffic Incident Actually At Rita Ranch Area

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating a fatal traffic incident that occurred on October 2, 2016.

The incident was first reported to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on October 6, 2016, when an adult male involved in the incident passed away from his injuries at Banner University Medical Center. It was originally reported that the victim had been involved in a single vehicle collision on Mt. Lemmon. As deputies began interviewing friends and witnesses, it was determined that the incident had actually taken place in the Rita Ranch area which is inside of the city limits.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim was standing on top of a vehicle while it was being driven by a friend. The victim fell off of the vehicle while in motion, resulting in serious injuries. Friends of the victim drove him to Northwest Emergency Center in Rita Ranch, where he was then transported to Banner University Medical Center for further treatment.

Traffic investigators with the Tucson Police Department are continuing the investigation. The exact location of the incident is still uncertain. At this time, no citations have been issued.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler Lee Grow. Next of kin was present at the time of his passing. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call 88-CRIME.
